Meticulous work in the vineyard:
organic winegrowing

Oenoview vendanges satelitte, Château Smith Haut Lafitte

We are convinced that a great wine is the result of a balance between the vines and their terroir. In order to achieve this, we constantly study and experiment with new technologies on behalf of our winegrowing philosophy, which can be summed up in the expression “Bio-Precision”.

Thanks to a study made over an 18-month period, we were able to map out our terroir in great detail and have adapted winegrowing accordingly.

We are especially attached to keeping a very close eye on ripening.  We are helped in this by the Oenoview satellite system that gives us a focus on each vine row.

All the grapes on our 78 hectares of vines are harvested manually by more than a hundred pickers.

We are pursuing our tests with drones and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). As opposed to the Oenoview system, the latter enables us to pinpoint uneven ripening.
